Vehicle Stop Puts End To Rash Of Thefts From Autos

Officials believe they have solved more than five dozen stolen property cases in Mesa County.

Four suspects authorities believe are responsible for stealing from more than 60 different cars are being investigated by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. Patrol deputies stopped a vehicle for expired plates and found many stolen items.

According to a press release, investigators say the four suspects have been cooperating and identified a 10-14 day period in late January and early February 2008, when they entered the cars and stole items.

The four suspects, two of which are juveniles, are not being identified pending charges of first degree criminal trespass, theft and accessory charges.
