Habitat for Humanity dedicated its first house of 2008 Thursday night, making for one excited new homeowner.

Jim Davis is the proud new owner of a home, after he put in 500 hours of “sweat equity” to receive the keys to the new house on the 2000 Block of Kennedy Avenue.

Habitat for Humanity has built homes for 38 families in Mesa County.
Volunteers provide a large part of the labor force and it takes anywhere from 6 to 8 months to build a new home. Another home will be dedicated next week.
