Wednesday, the House Finance Committee voted 9-1 approving a proposal to allow liquor stores to open on Sundays. Now the bill will be sent to the Appropriations Committee for a vote.
The Senate has already passed the bill.
Liquor store owners fought previous attempts to change the state's Blue Laws, saying they would rather stay closed on Sunday's.
This year, many of them switched positions in hopes of blocking another proposal that would allow supermarkets to compete with them by selling full-strength beer and wine. A Senate committee killed the supermarket bill last month.
