Grand Valley residents will have a chance to meet Miss Colorado and raise money for a good cause on Saturday.
Grand Junction native and reigning Miss Colorado USA Beckie Hughes will sign autographs Saturday afternoon from 12pm to 6pm at the Glacier Ice Park in Grand Junction.
Each signed card will cost five dollars and all proceeds from those cards will go to a scholarship fund that benefits teen figure skaters and hockey players.
Hughes says she's thrilled for the opportunity to meet the people she'll be representing in the upcoming Miss USA pageant, and adds that she's always happy to support a good cause.
"As Miss Colorado, I'm a big advocate for goals and dreams," said Hughes. "I know there are young teens who want to be professional figure skaters or professional hockey players and they need all the help they can get to make their dreams come true."
The Miss USA pageant will take place April 11 in Las Vegas. Hughes is the second consecutive Miss Colorado to come from the Western Slope.
