Kabul, Afghanistan (AP) U.S. troops raided an afghan village near the border with Pakistan today and killed six people, including two children and a woman.
Afghans say three men were also killed in the raid.
The U.S.-led coalition says its forces raided a home where bomb-makers lived. It says militants opened fire on troops and they shot back.
The military says the woman and children were in a home militants were firing from. And it regrets that militants are putting innocent lives at risk.
The governor of the province has previously called on U.S. forces to seek afghan help before launching nighttime raids, saying Afghans would help “reduce mistakes.”
