Virginia Beach, Va. (AP) Police in Virinia Beach, Virginia, say a gunman has shot and killed three people and wounded three others at an apartment complex.

Police aren't saying whether the gunman is among the dead or injured. And a spokesman says police don't know the relationship between the shooter and the victims.

Police were notified Wednesday afternoon that shots had been fired. One witness says he heard as many as 15 shots.

SWAT team members surrounded the building and nearby streets were closed off. It's not known if police made contact with the shooter before the victims were discovered.
