First Student formerly known as Laidlaw is calling all bus drivers for immediate openings with the company.

Drivers were out Thursday on Highway 6 & 50 just West of Walmart spreading the word about the openings, and also taking a few applications. First Student says similar hiring strategies have worked well for them.

Rob Cheedle of First Student says, "We get some real quality people that want to come by and they see the benefit in it, and it is a fun and rewarding job and the people who do it really enjoy it."

First Student will be out again Friday looking for more drivers. Applicants will have to pass a drug screening and be able to get a Class B Colorado drivers license.

Cheedle says bus drivers start at around $9.50 an hour.
