New York (AP) First, New York's new governor acknowledged that he and his wife both had affairs several years ago. Now, David Paterson is talking again about using illegal drugs when he was a young man.
Paterson tells the cable television station NY1 he used marijuana when he was “about 20” and tried cocaine “a couple of times” when he was “about 22 or 23.” he says more Americans “have tried a lot more” and “gone on to lead responsible lives.”
The 53-year-old Paterson was lieutenant governor under Eliot Spitzer, who resigned amid a prostitution scandal.
Paterson points out that he acknowledged his illegal drug use to a television interviewer in 2006.
