Washington (AP) A campaign spokesman says Hillary Clinton “misspoke” last week when she said she landed under sniper fire during a trip she took as first lady to Bosnia in March 1996. Democratic rival Barack Obama's campaign maintains Clinton was deliberately exaggerating her role.
Clinton made her original remark about the incident while she was on a goodwill trip to Bosnia trip during a speech last week about Iraq.
Today, Campaign Spokesman Howard Wolfson said Clinton wrote about a less serious situation in her book, “Living History,” and acknowledged she misspoke last week.
But an Obama spokesman says this is only the latest example of what he calls a growing list of instances in which Clinton has “exaggerated her role in foreign and domestic policymaking.”
