A Grand Junction man prosecutors say is responsible for causing a crash that killed a baby, is denied a bond reduction today. Logan Lage's bond will stay at $500,000.
Last week Judge Richard Gurley dismissed seven charges against Lage, including murder, citing Colorado law does not consider a baby in in the womb a child. District Attorney Pete Hautzinger is appealing the decision and says the case is essentially on hold in Mesa County until the court of appeals rules on whether he will face murder charges.
State Patrol says Lage crashed head on into Shea Lehnen's SUV while leading them on a high speed chase; she was eight and a half months pregnant. Officials say she gave birth through a "C" Section after the accident but the baby died. The coroner ruled the death a homicide.
