A teenager was pinned behind the wheel of his truck after flipping it on 24 Road Friday evening.
Police say the driver of the truck was on his cell phone when he went off the road, flipped his truck and landed upside down in the canal.
The grand Junction Fire Department worked quickly to free him from the truck. They had to deal with about a foot of water in the canal.
He was taken to the hospital with what authorities say do not appear to be life threatening injuries.
Officials say they aren't sure if he was wearing a seat belt but he could be facing charges.
They say drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
