Tense moments for a family Saturday night when their two year old falls into a pipe and gets stuck.

Authorities say if the toddler would have fallen head first into pipe he could have drowned as there was a foot of water in it.

It all happened at 325 Martin Court in Whitewater just after 6:00 p.m.

The boy's father tells 11 News the two year old was playing outside when he fell into the pipe.

The pipe is about ten inches in diameter and ten feet deep and sits on the side of the boy's home.

The father says he was able to get a strap around his son’s chest and pull him to safety within about two minutes.

When the Lands End Fire Protection District showed up the boy was in a bath nursing some scratches. He’s expected to be just fine.

The toddler’s father has covered the pipe.
