Denver (AP) Trial is scheduled to get under way today in Denver for an immigration agent charged with accessing a federal database to help a political campaign.
Cory Voorhis is accused of improperly accessing the National Crime Information Center computer database for information that ended up in an ad for Bob Beauprez's campaign for governor in 2006.
The database is supposed to be used for law-enforcement purposes.
Beauprez, a republican, lost the election to Governor Bill Ritter.
Voorhis' attorneys have said that others who did what he did have not faced prosecution.
