A startling report from AAA looks at the physical, emotional and monetary cost of teen drivers.

In 2006 teens were involved in nearly one million accidents, injuring nearly 500,000, and killing more than 2,500 people.

The study finds that crashes involving 15, 16 and 17 year old drivers are costing American society more than 34 billion dollars a year in medical expenses, lost work, property damage among other expenses.

President and CEO of AAA says that these figures provide one more reason for legislators to improve graduated driver licensing in states.
