County Commissioner candidate Dave Kearsley held a rally Thursday to try and garner support and signatures for his bid for the District 3 seat.
Kearsley says, "I'm running for County Commissioner because I'd like to give the people who are Republicans here in the county a choice, a clear choice."
Grand Junction Mayor and District 1 potential candidate Jim Doody attended Thursday's rally.
Kearsley needs at least 2,700 signatures of registered Republicans by May 24th to get on the August 12th primary ballot. The District 3 seat is currently held by Janet Rowland whom is running for re-election.
