Sunday Liquor Sale Bill to Become Law

Governor Bill Ritter is scheduled to sign the Sunday liquor sales bill into law on Monday.

The bill will take effect July 1st. Colorado will join 34 other states that permit Sunday alcohol sales at liquor stores.

The bill faced much opposition from grocery store owners because they believed it would hurt their beer sales on Sunday. Many of the liquor stores on the Western Slope say they are not in favor of the bill because Sunday is the only day off for many store owners and employees.
