Big Bear Lake, Calif (AP) Investigators are trying to determine what caused a 700-pound grizzly bear to attack and kill his trainer at a California wild animal training center.

The bear, which had wrestled with Will Ferrell's character in the recent movie “semi-pro,” suddenly turned on Stephen Miller yesterday, killing him with a bite to the neck.

California's Department of Fish and Game says the incident is being investigated by that department as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. A spokesman says any decision on whether to destroy the grizzly bear would likely be made by San Bernardino County Animal Care officials.

Actress Virginia Mckenna, the founder of the wildlife charity Born Free, says the death shows there's a need for the entertainment industry to use its “creative imagination” to find a way to stop using wild animals.
