Fort Carson, Colo. (AP) More than 50 firefighters are battling a wildfire in the Red Rock Canyon area of Fort Carson's Pinon Canyon maneuver site.

Fort Carson officials say they believe lightning started the blaze, which spans between 2,800 and 3,200 acres at the training site in Southeastern Colorado. No structures are threatened.

Fort Carson and U.S. forest service firefighters are at the scene, backed by two Blackhawk helicopters and a forest service air tanker. An Army ch-47 Chinook helicopter is transporting supplies and personnel from Fort Carson to the training site.
