Capitol Hill (AP) Lawmakers want to help the agency that oversees oil futures trading.
Many lawmakers think speculators are to blame for at least part of the huge run-up in the price of oil. They want to give the commodity futures trading commission more resources so it can keep better tabs on oil trading. It's the commission's job to investigate and regulate the oil market.
Legislation being proposed would give the commission more money, more manpower and more detailed information about oil trades to see how they affect the price of oil.
