The Crowley County District Attorney has decided not to file criminal charges in a fire that killed two firefighters and caused nearly $900-thousand in damage.

CBI agents say a homeowner lit a pile of hay on fire but didn't put it out all the way. The flames grew and charred 89-hundred acres of grassland in April.

Olney springs volunteer firefighters John Schwartz and Terry Devore died when their emergency vehicle crashed as a burned-out bridge collapsed.

CBI found there was no evidence of criminal intent and the fire was an accident.
