Bond has been set at $1 million for an Alaskan woman accused of killing her own newborn son and hiding his body in a closet at her parent's north Grand Junction home.
Morgan Hite made her first court appearance in Mesa County on Monday.
The 22-year-old is facing first degree murder charges.
Officials say on February 25, Hite secretly gave birth to a baby boy in the bathtub at a neighbor's house then put the infant in a plastic bag and left its body in a closet at her parents home.
The baby's decaying body wasn't found until nearly three months later by Hite's parents.
Hite was extradited from Alaska to Mesa County on Friday.
Hite is also facing forgery and theft charges. Her bond for those cases is $3,000.
