Text Messaging To Blame For Bicycle Fatality

A 17–year–old Highlands Ranch driver struck and killed a 63-year-old man riding his bicycle. According to authorities the young driver was text messaging on his cell phone when he swerved and hit Jim Price while he was riding his bicycle on Wednesday afternoon. The 17-year-old driver whose name has not been released will most likely be charged with careless driving resulting in death. It is a misdemeanor charge which carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail.
