A body was found near Dinosaur Hill, south of Fruita, Monday afternoon. Monday night little information was being released. Personnel from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and Search and Rescue Team set up their command post at Rimrock Adventures in Fruita as the investigation continued into the evening hours.
Susan McBurney with the sheriff's office said the identity of the body had not been determined, but there are reports the body is a male. The cause of death has not been determined.
It was unclear whether the body would be removed from the area Monday night or Tuesday after the Colorado Bureau of Investigation had a chance to canvas the scene.
