The Grand Valley's largest independent newspaper has entered a new partnership with the publisher of a number of other Western Slope papers. Colorado Mountain News Media is the new owner of the Grand Junction Free Press. The company publishes a number of Colorado newspapers, including dailies in Aspen, Vail, and Glenwood Springs, as well as a number of other weeklies.
The Free Press' new publisher is Bob Lombardi, who replaces John Duffy. Lombardi says readers will see no major changes in the newspaper. Lombardi immediately replaced Duffy as publisher. He has been with the Colorado Mountain News Media Group for two years, most recently as publisher of The Bargain Hunter newspaper.
