Theft Prevention On Minds At Powderhorn Ski Resort

With the ski season in full swing reports of stolen property are coming in to officials at Powderhorn Ski Resort. Officials there say thefts are not up from previous years, but there is still a chance unattended equipment could get stolen. There are things skiers and snowboarders can do to prevent such a loss from happening, like purchasing a lock to make sure equipment is secure. If you don't have a lock, never leave equipment unattended. Also visitors can stop by guest services and pick up identification cards and stickers to place on equipment, so that if gear does get lost or stolen, Powderhorn personnel will have information to turn into the Mesa County sheriff's office. Due to recent reports of theft officials at Powderhorn say they're looking into posting signs warning guests not to leave gear unattended. In addition, Powderhorn has employees in red jackets monitoring the resort in an effort to deter individuals from stealing.
