Despite improved weather on the Grand Mesa, rescue workers were still unable to find the body of missing skier Daniel Walker, Wednesday. More than 20 people fanned out along the Bull Basin area of the mesa, where searchers last found evidence of Walker last week. Officials from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office say shrinking snow cover is erasing any signs of Walker, despite very good search conditions.
Walker disappeared after searching for help after getting lost after searching for help for his wife and daughter. They were found in good condition last Tuesday.
The search for the 54-year-old engineer from Grand Junction was called off last Thursday after no signs of him had been found in the area rescue workers believed he could have been.
Officials will discuss Wednesday's search results before deciding to resume the recovery effort.
