Grand Junction police have arrested a man the say tried to stab a loss prevention officer at Mesa Mall earlier this week. Grand Junction resident Daniel John Stetzel, 21, allegedly pulled out a knife on the officer at the JC Penny store at the Mesa Mall on Tuesday after being asked if he had any stolen clothing. Stetzel say he left the mall in a 1980's model jeep.
The police officer on the scene was able to note the license plate number, which eventually led to Stetzel's arrest. He now faces charges of aggravated robbery, first degree assault, theft, and menacing.
No one was hurt during the incident.
