Fruita Women Accused Of Killing Her Domestic Partner

A Fruita woman has been transferred to Sterling after being charged in connection with the murder of her domestic partner. Emalie M. Hill, 41, was taken into custody on January 21st by deputies from the Mesa County Sheriff's Department. Hill, a former Sterling prison guard, is accused of killing Kimberley A. Morgan, 45.

According to an article in the Sterling Journal–Advocate,
neighbors of the couple glimpsed Morgan's bloody and bruised body lying on a bedroom floor on September 29th and called police.

Investigators are saying the couple quarreled over Hill's addiction to pain medication days before the murder. Hill moved to Fruita on October 23rd, but stayed in contact with Sterling police.

A judge in Sterling has imposed a gag order on the case until further notice.
