Preserving Colorado's water and improving rural infrastructure are two of US Congressman John Salazar's main objectives as he takes office. During his first visit to Grand Junction since winning the election, the 3rd District Representative talked about his first days in office at a luncheon with elected officials and community leaders of Mesa County, Friday.
The Democrat from Manassa, who also opened his downtown Grand Junction office Friday, stressed the importance of preserving water in rural communities and announced the creation of a 3rd Congressional District Water Coaltion. The group will be made up of more than two dozen water managers and experts from the district.
Salazar was recently appointed to the Transportation and Agriculture Committees and says he has hopes of getting on the Aviation Sub-committee in the near future.
