Western slope citizens have a chance to sit down with a panel of water experts Saturday, to talk about the future of the western slope's water, and tell legislators exactly what they think of their new bills. State Representatives Bernie Buescher and Josh Penry speak on the current legislation they're trying to have passed regarding water. Some of the panelists in attendance spoke on behalf of the front range, bringing concerns to the table. Buescher is in the process of trying to pass his basin of origin bill. A proposal that will allow compensation for basin water. Representative Penry is working toward a new framework to be set in place for negotiations between every basin in the state of Colorado. The water legislation forum was organized by the Western Colorado Congress.
