Suthers Sworn In As Colorado's Attorney General

Monday, Former U.S. Attorney John Suthers was sworn in as Colorado's new Republican Attorney General, promising to continue much of the work started by his Democratic predecessor, Ken Salazar.

Suthers was nomination by Governor Owens and confirmed by the Senate on Friday. He won approval, even though Democrats control both chambers of the legislature. Suthers is the former District Attorney for El Paso and Teller Counties and a former director of the state corrections department.
