Easing traffic congestion along the Interstate 70 mountain corridor was a key topic of the agenda when transportation officials met during Club 20's committee meeting, Friday.
Colorado Department of Transportation Director Glen Norton reviewed the environmental impact statement for several preferred alternatives.
All nine of the plans drafted include a new third bore at the Eisenhower Tunnel, and will mean adding lanes to the interstate through Colorado's high country. Some Club 20 members and the counties they represent are not necessarily in favor of the move.
Earlier Friday, Club 20 members met with tourism officials. Much of the discussion centered around floating rights on the Colorado River.
The Club 20 committee meetings will continue through the month of February in preparation for the club's spring meeting. It is scheduled for April 1st-2nd in Grand Junction.
