Environmentalists have requested an extra month to discuss preliminary work on the Roan Plateau extension. The original deadline for public comment is March 4th, but groups like the Colorado Environmental Coalition are asking the Bureau of Land Management to extend the deadline by 30 days.
According to published reports, a letter written to the B.L.M states people haven't had time to digest an air–quality analysis and recently released geographical data. A spokesperson for the B.L.M said the agency is considering the change and will decide on the deadline soon.
The Roan Plateau in Garfield County is home to a variety of wildlife, and some of the most pristine places in Colorado.
Natural gas pursuits in the area, considered to be massive, have those concerned with the environment concerned.
