A new traffic study shows that the west end of Patterson Road will be extremely congested in the next 20 years unless the City of Grand Junction takes action now.

The City has come up with several plans that will alleviate congestion around 24 Road and Patterson Road. The city held an open house Tuesday evening for the public to give its input. The City has four alternative plans for evaluation, based on a transportation study that identified the need for a new road from Highway 6 and 50 to 25 Road between Patterson and G Roads.

The F 1/2 Parkway project features two lanes each way that are separated by a median. The four alternatives impact anywhere from four to ten residential areas and will cost at most $11.3 million. At this time, no funds have been allocated for the project.
