A new study shows Mesa State College brings in $80 million in direct contributions to the Western Colorado economy. The study conducted by the school's business department also details the significance of the multi-million dollar economic impact, breaking down contributions into five categories of expenditures; employee, college, capital, student and visitor. The college employs 1,100 people and more than six thousand students are currently enrolled at the school. The study entitled “achieving a higher degree of leadership in Western Colorado” also analyzes the educational impact of Mesa State on the region as well as quality of life contributions.
