7th Street in downtown Grand Junction is getting a facelift and this weekend community members will have the opportunity to give their opinions on the project. The 7th Street Streetscape Expansion Project is a major undertaking by the City of Grand Junction. The Downtown Development Authority, the Colorado Department of Transportation, and Ciavonne, Roberts and Associates are the primary consultants on the project.
They have invited Dan Burden, an expert on “walkable communities,” to assist in this weekend's workshops, where the public can come and offer ideas on what 7th Street between Grand Avenue and Ute Avenue, as well as the 700 block of Main Street should look like in the future.
Friday night, the public workshop will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. It will include an educational and interactive discussion with Burden at Enstrom Candies. Then on Saturday, workshops will be held from 9:00 AM to 4 PM, including a walking assessment of the 7th Street area. That also will be at Entrom's located at 200 South 7th Street.
