Grand Valley Business Prospects On The Rise

There is some optimistic news for the local economy, the Grand Junction Economic Partnership is reporting a record increase in the number of new business prospects in 2004.

Prospects increased 86% between 2003 and 2004. Mesa County has 43 new active prospects that are considering a move to the Grand Valley.

Officials say the new prospects include manufacturing and service-based businesses. Ann Driggers, President of the partnership, credits an upbeat economy, the presidential election, and an improved marketing focus.

Driggers also says that in 2004, 61 new primary jobs were created in Grand Junction, with the average salary for those jobs at more than $42,000 anually.
