Albertson's Employees Not Happy With Latest Labor Offer
Representatives for Colorado grocery store employees working for Albertson's say they don't approve of a contract offer handed them by store management. Negotiators for the workers union rejected the Boise, Idaho–based company's offer Thursday night and demanded the company come to the table with a better offer.
Workers expected the Albertson's proposal to be similar to those agreed to by Safeway and King Soopers–City Market, instead, they say the Albertson's proposal cuts pay, sick leave,
and vacation for all workers. They also say it eliminates some jobs in the meat and deli departments.
Albertson's employs about 2,000 people in Colorado and has three stores on the Western Slope.
