Police are investigating the Thursday burglary of a Grand Junction post office. Thursday morning, police were dispatched to the U.S. Post Office at 759 Horizon Drive. An employee reported that when she arrived for work she discovered a hole in the wall. She also discovered that a door the post office shares with a neighboring business was unlocked.
The suspect or suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash out of the post office's safe. A postal inspector from the U.S. Postal Service in Denver arrived in Grand Junction Friday to work with police.
The Postal Inspection Service will be awarding up to 2,000 to anyone who reports information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. If you have any information about this burglary you are asked to call the Grand Junction Police Department.
