A Grand Valley woman has been arrested and charged with assault. The Grand Junction Police Depatrment says Cassandra Bell Hayes–Lyle was in custody Monday after attempting to run over a Grand Junction man four times in his front yard. The incident happened late Sunday night when Bell–Hayes drove to 585 25½ Road to pick up her daughter.
She and the victim were having custody issues over the child when the victim refused to let Hayes–Lyle take the child. According to police she kicked down the door and assaulted the victim. The victim managed to get Hayes–Lyle out of the house where she got in her car and attempted to run him over four times.
Hayes–Lyle was aprehended outside of an apartment complex on Belford Avenue in Grand Junction. She is being held at the Mesa County Jail facing charges of attempted vehicular assualt, 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and 2nd degree burglary and harassment.
