For the first time in its history, the United Way of Mesa County is closing in on the $1 million mark for the 2004–2005 campaign. Thursday, more than $981,000 had been raised with the 3rd annual Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley less than two weeks away.
The $981,000 raised by this campaign led by Mike and Jean Sewell is already a record. The $1 million mark has been set by several campaigns in the past.
United Way Executive Director Nancy Stalf says a large turnout at the Taste of the Grand Valley could help push this campaign over $1 million.
The 3rd Annual Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley is Monday, April 4th from 4-8:00 PM at Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction.
