Citizen's Tip Leads To Arrest Of State Patrol Escapee

A man wanted for allegedly escaping from a Colorado State Patrol cruiser earlier this week is behind bars. Police say after receiving a tip 26-year-old Matthew Tittor was arrested Saturday night along with his companion 23-year-old Laurie Reno. The two were picked up near 1041 Ute Avenue in Grand Junction. According to police reports Tittor was arrested on an active warrant for escape and he allegedly had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession at the time of the arrest. Laurie Reno was arrested for allegedly aiding Tittor's escape and possessing drug paraphernalia. A warrant was issued for Tittor's arrest after he managed to flee from the back of state patrol car while handcuffed Wednesday night following a traffic stop.
