The Third Annual Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley is being called a huge success by the United Way of mesa County, the group that organizes the event. More than 1800 people were at 2 Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction for Monday night's food festival. That is more than double the number of people from a year ago.
More than 50 food vendors were on hand for a big night of food and fun. Award winners from the event were Rib City Grill for "Best Taste", and Pantuso's Ristorante for "Best Theme" and "Best Show."
The big announcement Monday night was that this year's Grand Junction Air Show made a pledge of $15,000 to help this campaign become the first ever to pass the $1 million mark.
Members of the United Way staff were still colleting ticket proceeds Tuesday and hope to have a grand total of how much money was raised later this week.
From everyone at 11 News, thanks to Home Loan and all of the sponsors and volunteers that made this event a success.
