Between 2002 and 2003 about 88% percent of people 21 and older were designated as lifetime alcohol users. Thursday, Colorado West Mental Health was working to raise awareness about preventing alcohol abuse.
They now offer free alcohol screening at the office on 740 Gunnison Avenue. It's part of a nationwide campaign to provide education on the dangers of drinking too much.
Participants answered questions about how much they consume and the reason for doing so. This can give a better determination if there is in fact a problem that needs to be addressed.
If you think you have a problem with alcohol, or would like more information, call or stop by the Colorado West Mental Health offices in Grand Junction.
