It's another record year for real estates sales in Mesa County in 2004, with the figures going over the $1 billion dollar mark. Experts in real estate say reaching the billion dollar milestone is the result of rising home values and an overall increase in the volume of homes that are selling.
Last year's sales were up 6.9% nine percent compared to 2003. The average cost of a three–bedroom home rose more than 8.5%, to just more than $172,000. The continuous growth of the community, and the lowest interest rates in decades, are helping to boost sales. Realtors say Mesa County is both a buyer's and seller's market.
Real estate experts also point out that more and more higher end homes are selling in Mesa County. Last year there were 52 transactions worth more than $1 million dollars.
