A committee has been formed to make roads in Mesa County safer. A 2003 rural road study conducted by the County showed that several intersections were more accident prone.

In the past two years initiatives taken by the county have in some cases drastically reduced the number of accidents in some rural places. A committee of Mesa County Officials, State Patrol Officers and residents is working with the County Commissioners to alert and educate drivers.

The Colorado State Patrol is encouraging the public to get involved. You can submit your suggestions, comments and complaints by calling 858-2252 and asking for Sergeant Bailey.
