Montain bike riders from around the country, and the world, are in the Grand Valley this week learning how local bikers have built mountain bike trails in Mesa County. It's a working seminar and part of the 10TH Annual Fruita Fat Tire Festival being held in the Grand Valley this week.
Participants at the first Fruita Fat Tire Festival Trail Summit join members of the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Association and the Bureau of Land Management for an on–the–ground look at how off–road bike trails are plotted.
Unlike horse and foot paths, mountain bike trails are laid out with a specific purpose in mind. Many of the riders on hand were envious of the terrain found in Western Colorado
Wednesday, the Fruita Fat Tire Festival continues with a celebration of the tenth anniversary of the event.
