A man from Dinosaur is arrested after using a machete during a fight Wednesday night in Grand Junction. Kevin Lee Walling now faces numerous charges, including attempted first degree murder.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, Walling reportedly almost backed into a car at 922 North 1ST Street around 11:00 PM. A passenger got out and started to yell at Walling. The argument escalated and Walling reportedly got out of his truck with a machete knife and swung and hit the man in the head and neck area.
Two of the man's friends got out of their car to help, and Walling hit another man with the knife. The third managed to punch Walling and grab the weapon. The three got into their car and went to the emergency room at St. Mary's Hospital.
Walling was first treated for injuries from the incident, then taken to the Mesa County Jail.
