Hundreds of mountain bikers from around the country are pedaling the hills around the west end of the Grand Valley Friday and Saturday, as the 10TH Annual Fruita Fat Tire Festival rolls into its final weekend. The week–long festival kicked off last weekend with an 18 hour endurance race around Highline Lake.
Since then, there have been seminars on trail plotting and a birthday party marking a decade in business for Fat Tire Festival founder Troy Rarick's Over The Edge bicycle shop.
Although festival–goers have had to ride out a little bad weather this week, riders says it's been worth the trip to Fruita.
Saturday events kick off in Downtown Fruita at 9:00 AM and continue through the day.
