Rising River Means Rising Revenues For Area Raft Outfitters

With the warnings from Mesa County officials about possible flooding on the Colorado River, one company in the Grand Valley sees the excess water as a benefit, not a concern. Certain areas along the Colorado River are already seeing the rising water, which Rim Rock Adventures owner Travis baeir says is great for his business.

Rim Rock Adventures is already booking rafting trips for the summer, and Baier says the more water that fills the river, the better the rafting season will be.

The Colorado River will not be the only hot spot for rafters.

Outfitters on the Arkansas River near Salida are planning to see the largest turnout of rafters in years.
